Progress: Read 163 pages of Voyager by Diana Gabaldon

Total

Pages Read: 647

Books Completed-None (yet! But so close!)

Not much to report today. Within one hundred pages of finishing Voyager. I really have no idea where this one is headed in terms of a climax…it’s been a little aimless the last few chapters, but I’m sure it’s building to something. We’ll see what. And then for tomorrow’s update, I should have a new book to report! Which one…even I don’t know, you’ll just have to come back and see.

Bout of Books Day 3-Update

Today

Progress: Read 112 pages of Voyager by Diana Gabaldon

Challenge: Book Haiku hosted by Kristina Horner

Pages Read: 484

Books Completed-None (yet!)

I’m still enjoying Voyager but I’m definitely feeling the length of it, what with keeping track of my reading so closely this week. I am hoping to finish this one up by/on Friday and use Saturday to read something short and light off my TBR (maybe Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover? Not sure yet) before jumping in to All The Light We Cannot See, which I want to have read by next Wednesday for IRL book club.

Today’s challenge was so. fun. I got to write a little haiku about Voyager:

And these are tons of fun to read! You can really tell who is loving their current read and who isn’t.

Bout of Books Day 2-Update

Today

Progress: Read 209 pages of Voyager by Diana Gabaldon

Pages Read: 348

Voyager is still going well, overall. It had a bit of a slow transition section that I was slogging through a little last night and early today, but now it’s roared back and is crazier than ever, which is saying quite a lot, given everything else happening in these books.

Absolutely loving Voyager so far. Book 2 in this series dragged a bit, but I’ve been totally sucked back in with this one. Tomorrow will be another busy day of working, so I’m sure I won’t get more than another 100 pages done, but I am so happy with that number for today and for getting nearly 300 pages into this book in only two days–the other two each took me more than a week to finish and at this rate, this installment should take half that time.

Bout of Books 12 Update: Day 1

Day 1 Progress

Pages: 99 pages of Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Books Completed:

Picked up Opal on Sunday night and continued it today. It’s not the best book I’ve ever read or anything, but it’s a fun and easy read-perfect for a read-a-thon like this!

Day 1 Challenges

New Year’s Resolutions

In this challenge, hosted by The Book That…,  we match our New Year’s Resolutions to book titles, and the resolutions could be bookish or not. Here’s what I’ve come up with:

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Kahled Hosseini

I didn’t know what title to pick for this reading resolution. But basically, I want to branch out and pick up some novels by diverse authors. Get into some literature from South Americans or Asians or Africans or all of the above.

Just One Day by Gayle Foreman

I get to caught up in everything I have to do or worrying about what might happen in the future. It makes me a good strategist, but it also makes me kind of high-strung and neurotic. So the resolution for this is to take things one step at a time, to not be too hard on myself, and to enjoy every day.

Across the Universe by Beth Revis

I want to travel. Not across the galaxy, maybe. But out of the country. Specifically, I want to save money this year and travel to Europe in 2016.

Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt

This challenge was hosted at Caught Read Handed. I participated on Instagram:
